About Me

Hey everyone! My name is Sam Hellman and I am from Fairfax, Virginia, which is about 30 minutes away from our nation’s capital.  However, this does not mean I am a Redskins fan for anyone wondering (I can’t stand them). Something that most people do not know about me is that I have lived in five states; Mississippi, Kansas, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. My Dad was in the Navy for 25 years which is why we moved so many times. Having moved so many times made the trip up to Penn State a lot easier! A little more about my family is that my Mom is an eighth grade civics teacher and my sister is currently a senior here at Penn State and absolutely loves it! We also have a yellow Labrador Retriever named Misty who I also miss extremely! Back to sports…My favorite teams are the St. Louis Rams, New York Mets, Washington Wizards, and Washington Capitals. And I can’t forget my favorite team of all…Penn State football! I have been coming to games ever since I was little kid, which is a big reason why I fell in love with this school and wanted to come here so badly. Some other things about me are that I played baseball and basketball in high school and am currently undecided on my major (oh wait we all are!). Also, my favorite food is buffalo wings and I love to travel. I can’t wait to see what this first semester has in store for me and I am looking forward to meeting you all!
